'Parent army' drums up £100m for schools - The Sunday Times 17 February 2019
Some "quotes" and comments from Trudy
"The majority of PTA committees are run entirely by mothers" - Although the LFA is currently run by a mum, there's nothing stopping dads applying for the chair position. We currently have 2 dads on our committee and a male member of staff too.
We are a kind of "silent army", busy behind the scenes - gathering volunteers to organise and help out at events.
"There is a wealth of evidence that shows that parents taking an active role in children's education (not just their own children) makes a massive difference to how well they do"
Parents struggling with their own finances, might be happy to donate some of their time instead. If you're interested Contact the LFA
